Several World War II members of VFW Post 6240 were on the honor flight to Washington DC on September 10, 2008 to visit the World War II Memorial and other sites in Washington DC.  Spud Whitman of Paradise, Kansas was one of the members, and the following is some photographs, and information on his trip.  I do not have a list of the other members that were on the flight, and if you know of any VFW 6240 members that were on that flight, please send me photographs, a write-up, etc., and I will post it on the web-site.  Please send it to vfw6240@ruraltel.net.  Thanks.

Elbert (Spud) Whitman served on the SS Sinclair Rubilene, the SS Frederick C. Howe and the SS Simon Benson.  He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945.
